Share it on FacebookPrime Minister Manmohan Singh, along with his cabinet colleagues will discuss the mid-term appraisal (MTA) of the 11th five year plan with Chief Ministers of all the states on 24 of July.
Sources told CNBC-TV18 that the MTA has called for a policy to reactivate fuel distribution points of private oil marketing companies that stopped operating since 2007.
The MTA has also called for a unified tax structure for petro products and at the same time proposed that only the poor should have access to subsidised petroleum products.
Significantly, the MTA has blamed delay in development of the KG basin by Reliance Industries for the 4.6% shortfall in natural gas production during the 11th plan period.
The MTA also criticised the current power trading regime as it was leading to higher costs for consumers.
