Navaratna PSU Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged Rs 91 crore worth of export order from Power Engineers Contracting Company, UK.
The order envisages supply of a state-of-the-art 42 megawatt or MW (Frame 6B) gas turbine generating unit for the UK companyâ??s Nasiryah power project in Iraq.
Apart from this, BHEL has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Power Engineers for supplying Fr-9E gas turbine generators and steam turbine generators for future projects in Iraq.
The company will manufacture gas turbines and associated equipment to be supplied under this contract at its Hyderabad plant while the state-of-the-art control system will be manufactured and supplied by the Bangalore-based electronics division of the company.
Recently, BHEL had received an order worth Rs 205 crore from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), a company majority owned by the government of Oman.
