European shares sank on Thursday  as the latest round of U.S.-China trade friction and a soft set of business surveys sapped investors’ risk appetite, while British Prime Minister Theresa May faced growing pressure to quit. The markets finished sharply lower. The pan-European STOXX 600 had dropped 1.42%%.  markets finished sharply lower today with shares in France leading the region. The CAC 40 is down 1.82% while Germany's DAX is off 1.78% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 1.41%.

U.S. stock indexes fell more than 1.50% on Thursday morning, as investors sold off technology, industrials and energy stocks on fears that a spiraling trade war between the United States and China would crimp global growth.  the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 393.69 points, or 1.53%, at 25,382.92 The S&P 500 was down 43.11 points, or 1.89%, at 2,813.16 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 146.47 points, or 1.53%, at 7,604.37.

Oil prices plunge 5% as the market prepares for a prolonged U.S.-China trade war that could slow global economic growth and weaken fuel demand. Brrent Crude futures sank $3.47, or 4.89%, to $67.52 per barrel . West Texas Intermediate crude futures tumbled $3.30, or 5.37% to $58.12 per barrel.

U.S. stock indexes slumped more than 1% on Thursday, as investors dumped technology, industrial and energy stocks on fears that a spiraling trade war between the United States and China would shackle global growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average  lost 286.14 points, or 1.14%, to 25,490.47, while the S&P 500 index fell 34.03 points, or 1.19%, to 2,822.24. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index sank 122.56 points, or 1.58%, to 7,628.28.

Oil prices plunged on Thursday, losing about 5% as trade tensions dampened the demand outlook, putting the crude benchmarks on course for their biggest daily and weekly falls in six months. West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery  on the New York Mercantile Exchange lost $3.51, or 5.7%, to settle at $57.91 a barrel.  Global benchmark July Brent  fell $3.23, or 4.6%, to $67.76 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

World shares made it four days in the red in the last five on Thursday as concerns grew that the China-U.S. trade conflict was fast turning into a technology cold war between the world’s two largest economies.

Asian stockson Thursday caved to a four-month low as the rhetoric between Beijing and Washington.

European shares follow Asia into the red.

U.S. stocks retreated further on Thursday. Sterling had troubles of its own as it hit a 4-1/2-month low. 

Oil futures suffered their largest single-session loss of the year on Thursday.

In currencies, constant trade friction saw the safe haven yen in demand again as the dollar dipped to yen.

Yield  on U S  10-year Treasury at lowest in more than 19 months.

In the morning trade to day Stocks in Asia broadly declined.

Asian shares hobbled near four-month lows on today morning trade and crude oil plunged on worries the U.S.-China trade spat was developing into a more entrenched strategic dispute between the world’s two largest economies, pushing investors to safe-haven assets. The Hang Seng is higher by 0.16% while the Shanghai Composite is flat with a loss of 0.07%. The Nikkei 225 is down 0.68%. The Kospi has lost 0.90%. The ASX 200 is off 0.75%.

Asian stock markets are mixedo n today as the trade war between the United States and China snowballed into a deeper strategic issue. The Hang Seng gained 0.22% and the Shanghai Composite rose 0.02%. The Nikkei 225 lost 0.16%. The Kospi is down0.69%. TheASX 200 is off 0.55%.

U S  Stock futures are higher on Friday morning, as market participants continue to monitor trade tensions between the world’s two-largest economies. At 5:40 a.m. ET, Dow futures  are positive at 137 points. Futures on the S&P and Nasdaq are both higher 15.50 and 39.00 points respectively.
