Dear Hemantbhai, I wonder why you are too much concerned about this matter. Do you think the Government is always right in their proclamations? The present one is simply impractical.
Did they instruct the Banks (at least the PSU's) to make sure that they won't give any such notes to the customers? In other words, if I get notes from the Bank cash counter with scribblings in it what should I do?
When Morarji Desai came into power immediately after the Emergency, the first thing he did was demonitization, i.e. he decided to cancel 1000 rupee note at that time. RBI did it. The reason behind was not economical, but personal: because Madam Indira Gandhi had truck-loads of 1000 rupees in her custody at that time, as the gossip-mongers used to tell.
There is nothing to panic. We cannot change the basic instincts of a whole population.
