Bonus means instead of one hundred rupee note you will have two fifty rupee notes. Recently two companies one software (Chennai based) and one pharma (Hyderabad Based) have given bonus shares. But the investors who have purchased the shares after the bonus announcement and received the bonus shares have incurred losses. Once the bonus news comes, buy the stock at the first instance and exit the counter after getting some profit. Don't wait for the record date and bonus shares.
